Aegilo Rescue · Emergency, free · One or two cases per quarter

When the stakes are real and the budget isn't.

Rescue is Aegilo Emergency given away. Every quarter we take on one or two cases free of charge: people facing a decision that deserves real intelligence work, who can't fund it. You get the full product — the same sourcing, triangulation, and red-teaming as paid work. In exchange, we ask permission to publish a sanitised account of how the work was done.

To be exact about the word: what we send is a report. We don't drive, escort, or coordinate anything on the ground, and we can't come and get anyone — that's an operation, and a different business. What we can do is make sure the decision in front of you is made on the best available read rather than on rumour, and do it fast.

Why this exists

We've been on the constrained side of this.

When the war started, we got our own family out of Ukraine in time — at the cost of a plane ticket. Not because we had money or connections, but because we had the knowledge: what to watch, what it meant, and when to move.

For those who waited, the price of the same decision changed. An evacuation from Kyiv after the invasion began ran around €12,000 per person — a seat on a bus, with no guarantee of getting out.

That's the difference intelligence makes. Deciding early costs airfare. Deciding late costs more than most people have. Rescue exists because the knowledge that saved our family shouldn't depend on being able to afford it.

The deal, plainly

Full product for you. The method, sanitised, for everyone else.

WHAT YOU GET

The work, not a lighter version of it.

  • The full product — the same tradecraft as paid client work, nothing cut down
  • Every judgement triangulated, red-teamed, and traced to its primary source
  • A plain record of what's confirmed and what isn't — including the checks that failed

A free case gets the same standard of evidence as a paid one. That's the point.

WHAT WE ASK

The right to show how it was done.

  • Permission to publish a sanitised account of the method — the process, not you
  • Identities, sources, locations, and anything operational are removed or altered
  • You review the sanitised version before anything is published — veto included

The published piece is about tradecraft — what was checked, how, and what didn't pass. Never about who you are.

Who this is for

The cases we're looking for.

FREELANCE JOURNALISTS & FIXERS Heading into a hostile environment with an assignment and no security desk behind you.
SMALL NGOS & RESEARCHERS Field teams in difficult places, no budget line for a real risk read — and no appetite for a vague one.
SMALL & MEDIUM COMPANIES Sudden exposure — a sanctions question, a supply chain that just turned risky, a key person who has to travel.
FAMILIES & INDIVIDUALS Relatives or assets in an elevated-risk location, and only expensive or evasive quotes so far.
How we choose

Three tests. No committee.

01

Real decision. Someone is about to act on the answer — travel, commit, withdraw, hire, move.

02

Real constraint. You genuinely can't fund the work at market rate. We take your word; we're not auditors.

03

Sanitisable. The case can be told honestly without exposing you or anyone in it.

Capacity is one or two cases per quarter — most applications will be declined. If we can't take yours, we say so quickly and, where we can, point you somewhere useful.

How your data is held

You're telling us a situation you cannot make public. Nobody else gets to read it.

Most firms treat this as a legal appendix. For an intelligence firm it's part of the product: the question you asked us is itself confidential, before any answer exists.

SWISS STORAGE Your material sits in Switzerland. Stored with a Swiss provider under Swiss jurisdiction. US hyperscalers were excluded for storing client material on purpose.
KEYS HELD APART The people holding the data can't read it. Your material is encrypted under a key belonging to you alone, and that key lives in a different control domain from the storage.
ERASURE IS ONE ACT Deletion that actually reaches the backups. Erasure destroys your key, which renders every copy unreadable at once — archives included. Deleting rows can't promise that honestly.
